This morning, we received news of one new positive case in our community.

4 positives in isolation on campus
6 positives in isolation off campus
15,595 tests, 63 positives since 8/4/20
Population positive rate: 3.15%
National rate: 10.5% | Rate for the state of Michigan: 13.91%
Total # of student cases: 55
Total # of employee cases: 8
Total # of false positives: 2

Advisories
Our community is advised to take extra precaution as cases are on a significant rise in Calhoun County, the state of Michigan, and now on campus.
Self-identification of symptoms is very important. Members of our community have been quick to report symptoms to the COVID-19 office, leading to rapid identification and quarantine of close contacts, thereby protecting the community.
*Changes in cases will be highlighted in the new update format to simplify community reporting.
What you can do:
To keep yourself and others safe, members of our community with symptoms should self-quarantine immediately and notify . Immediate reporting of symptoms allows us to stop the spread of COVID-19 across campus. To bring the rate of infection down:
- Complete your daily health screening in the Aura app.
- Do not visit other residence halls, apartments or fraternity houses besides your own.
- Do not hold or attend unapproved social gatherings in residential spaces.
- If you are in quarantine, remain in your room and adhere to all quarantine policies.
- Live the commitment we made, the Albion Community Commitment.
- Follow all guidelines shared by the Office of the President, Office of Student Development and Office of Residential Life regarding departing campus early for winter break.

Dear Albion Community,
This morning, we received news of one new positive case on campus. In addition to the new guidance from the Governor, we have seen significant increases in COVID-19 cases in Calhoun County and the last several positive cases on campus have led to unusually high numbers of close contacts and the quarantine of two fraternities and one athletic team. Please refer to today’s email regarding new guidance on winter break departures for the latest safety recommendations for members of our campus community.
