Welcome to the Anna Howard Shaw Women's Center

The Women’s Center is named in honor of Dr. Anna Howard Shaw who attended Albion College from 1873-1875. She was an ardent feminist, educator, minister, medical doctor, orator, and suffragist.

The Women’s Center houses the Project Coordinator for the Office on Violence Against Women Campus Grant, who coordinates grant activities to raise awareness and prevention on sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking on Albion’s campus. The Center provides resources for victims/survivors of gender-based violence, as well as providing educational opportunities for the campus community. In addition to the prevention and awareness efforts of the Center, there is a small library of feminist texts available for students.

Involvement in the Anna Howard Shaw Women’s Center is open to the entire College Community. There are many formal and informal ways for students, faculty, and staff to be involved in the Center’s activities.
