IT Incident 6/27/18

IT Update: Quarterly Maintenance
Wed, 27 Jun 2018 16:59:56 -0400

Beginning on Saturday, June 30th and continuing through Tuesday, July 3rd we
will be performing major upgrades on our Wireless network infrastructure.
This will cause widespread, intermittent connectivity issues across the
entire campus wireless network. Phones, printers, and wired computers on
campus should be largely unaffected by these upgrades.

On Wednesday, July 4th, we will be upgrading the network closet in the
Seeley-Mudd library. This will effect all internet and telephone services
in that portion of the library.

Additionally, we will be replacing older access points across campus
throughout this maintenance period. These older access points will no
longer function with the controller upgrades and must be replaced. The
following locations may temporarily lose wireless networking after the
maintenance, until we have a chance to replace their outdated access
points. If you have activities scheduled in these areas that require
wireless networking, please let us know so we can expedite restoration of
service.

Stockwell Library
All Erie Street Annexes (Briton Apartments will not be effected)
711 E. Michigan (Counseling)
Haven House
Science Atrium

Going forward, the scheduled quarterly maintenance periods tentatively
scheduled for the next year are as follows:

Fall Break – October 13-16, 2018

Winter Break – December 21-30, 2018 (Major upgrades)

Spring Break – March 2-8, 2019

Summer – July 4-7, 2019

Thank you for your continued support.
