College Welcomes All to Community Day
The entire Albion community is invited to Albion College's campus on Saturday, September 8, for a family-friendly Community Day celebration.
8 a.m.: Youth league football games, in Victory Park and at the Albion College Dow Athletic Complex, located at the intersection of Hannah and East Erie Streets
10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: Carnival activities for children and adults, Dow Athletic Complex at Hannah and East Erie Streets. Children aged 2-12 can also meet Albion College's mascot, Brit, and sign up for the new Brit Kids Club.
11 a.m. Volleyball, Albion vs. Saint Mary's, Kresge Gymnasium (west end of College Quadrangle)
1 p.m.: Football, Albion vs. Wheaton College. Tickets are $6-$5/adults, $4/students, free for children under 5 years. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
3:30 p.m.: Men's soccer, Albion vs. Spring Arbor, Alumni Field (east end of the Dow Athletic Complex)

Newell, '77, Provides Gift for Center for Teaching and Learning
Innovative approaches to teaching with technology will be at the forefront in a new Center for Teaching and Learning at Albion College. The center, planned as part of the current Stockwell Library renovation campaign, has been underwritten by a gift from Albion College trustee Mark Newell, ’77. In addition to Newell’s personal contribution, support for this project also comes from donations made by his colleagues in honor of his December 2011 retirement from the international law firm of Latham & Watkins.

Albion College Announces Ludington Estate Gift for Career Development
Albion College's distinctive "Albion Advantage" lays an even stronger path from college to career, thanks to a major gift in support of the Stockwell Library renovation plans.
The Office of Institutional Advancement recently announced the estate of former Dow Corning executive John Ludington, '51, will help underwrite the John S. Ludington Career and Internship Center in Stockwell Library, part of Phase II of the library upgrades.

Albion College Continues Library Campaign with Gerstacker Leadership Gift
Albion College's library renovation project recently received a $1-million grant from the Rollin M. Gerstacker Foundation of Midland. The foundation's gift anchors a $6.15-million fundraising campaign now under way for the campus's Stockwell Memorial Library.
"This leadership gift from the Gerstacker Foundation is key to the success of our effort to create in Stockwell Library a 21st-century learning center," said Albion College President Donna Randall.
