Presidential Search

Finding Our Next Leader

Albion College has announced the search for its 17th President since our founding in 1835. After a distinguished career in higher education spanning more than four decades, Dr. Mauri A. Ditzler has announced his plans to retire as President at the end of the current academic year. He will continue to serve as an ambassador for Albion College on several key initiatives for the next two years.

As a college community, we so appreciate the many wonderful contributions President Ditzler has made during his tenure at Albion and the many accomplishments we have achieved under his leadership. Click here to read President Ditzler’s letter to our community or here to watch his announcement.

You can read a joint letter here from Board of Trustees Chair J. Donald Sheets, ’82 and Trustee and Search Committee Chair Michael J. Harrington, ’85 thanking Pres. Ditzler for his service to Albion College and to the community.

Albion College remains committed to our mission as a leading residential liberal arts college to prepare students to translate critical thought into action and to our work partnering with the community on the redevelopment of downtown Albion. You can hear a video message from Board Chair Sheets here.

Search Chair Harrington will be joined by fellow trustee Joey Miller, ’75 as Vice Chair to lead the search process. Based on their recommendation, the Albion Board of Trustees has engaged Storbeck Pimentel & Associates to support the search process. You can read more about the firm here.
