Share the Legacy of Albion
You know that Albion College turns critical thought into real-world action. The College has a proud tradition of "legacy students," too — students whose parents, grandparents, or siblings attended Albion. Help carry that legacy forward by inviting high school students you know to Albion, whether they are in your family, a part of your church, or friends with your children.
Our next open house takes place Saturday, November 10. This is a perfect opportunity to introduce a student to Albion College. Our Office of Admission also tailors individual visits to fit a student's interests and arrange meetings with a professor, an athletic coach, or one of Albion's signature institutes and centers. Contact our Admission team to learn about other ways you can encourage students to consider Albion.

Hall of Fame Welcomes New Briton Athletes
Albion College celebrated the true student-athlete experience October 12 as nine former athletes, coaches Keith Havens and Scott Frew, and the 1982 men’s track & field and 1993 women’s tennis teams gained induction into the College’s Athletic Hall of Fame.
“We were completely engaged in athletics and academics,” David Lefere, '97,said in his acceptable speech on behalf of the new Hall of Fame class. “I took so much away from what was taught by the coaches. We were not enabled (by our coaches). If you did not take care of your responsibilities, you did not play. The athletic classroom builds toughness which is important because the business world is not easy.”

Trustee Diane Carr, '81, Discusses Work-Life Balance with E&M Class
Women who aspire to have it all can achieve those goals if they define the things they want, Diane Carr, '81, told students in Vicki Baker's Women in Business & Leadership class. Carr, an Albion College trustee, balanced the responsibilities of being a wife and a mother of two sons while working her way to becoming a partner in the East Lansing law firm of Brookover, Carr & Schaberg before retiring in 2011.
"In general, a woman can have it all, but she has to figure out what having it all means to her," Carr said. "There are tradeoffs."

President Donna Randall: Effective Leadership Depends on Art of Compromise
"Learning the art of compromise should be more than an intellectual exercise for our students. Liberal arts colleges must give students the opportunity to practice this and other leadership skills while still in college. One of the ways we accomplish this goal at Albion College is through our Gerald R. Ford Institute for Leadership in Public Policy and Service. We show students how to model engaged citizenship and thoughtful compromise through simulations of government in action, through internships that immerse them in public service, and through observing firsthand various leadership styles -- from grassroots activists to high-ranking politicians in Congress."
