Plans Under Way for Second Phase of Athletic Facility Improvements

A new era in Albion College athletics will begin following completion of major improvements planned for Alumni Field. The upgrades include the construction of a soccer/lacrosse competition facility, the relocation of softball's Dempsey Field to the southeast corner of Alumni Field, and the reconfiguration of baseball's Frank Joranko Field. Also planned are a new entrance to Alumni Field, serving as a gateway to the entire complex, and a centrally located outdoor plaza that will offer a gathering space for players and fans. LEARN MORE

Kubrick Documentary Takes Albion Professor to Red Carpet

In Rodney Ascher's Room 237, which made its debut Jan. 23 at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, Albion College history professor Geoff Cocks provides insight into how Kubrick's use of objects, numbers, colors, and music in the 1980 classic The Shining relate to the Holocaust. READ MORE

Cameroon Trip Challenges First-Year Students' Thoughts About Africa

A small group of first-year Albion College students spent their initial semester on campus last fall in a First-Year Seminar course designed to acquaint the young scholars with another side of Africa they may have never considered in Cameroon. READ MORE
