Briton Path, Campus Safety, Technology Survey and Engage

This week’s blog contains information on our Briton Path academic support program and video from Campus Safety highlighting the services they provide. We also are asking you to take a quick technology survey and create an Engage profile so you can sign into events and meetings in the fall.

First-Year Students: Transfer Students: The Briton Path Program: We Can’t Wait to See You!

Tap to watch the Briton Path video. The Briton Path Program is excited to welcome our incoming class for 2020-2021! First-year students in Briton Path are accepted into the program during the Albion College admissions process. Briton Path is for students who want a step-up with the academic transition from high school to college, who want to build their path to success early with access to support resources such as academic coaches, learning communities, college readiness courses, and tutoring.

The best way to learn more about Briton Path is from our former students and graduates. Watch our video! Be sure to check your Albion email and Briton Bound Accounts in July and August for more information. Contact the BP Staff at Nick Mourning, or Dr. Pam Schwartz, with questions.

First-Year Students: Transfer Students: Parents: Get To Know Campus Safety

Tap to watch the Campus Safety Video. Providing a safe environment on campus is an important part of Campus Safety at Albion College, but it is not all that Campus Safety can do for you. Check out this video to meet the Campus Safety Staff and learn more about the many services they provide.

First-Year Students: Transfer Students: Technology Equipment Survey

In order to better plan and serve you we are asking all returning students as well as new students about their technology needs. Please take a few minutes to answer a short survey regarding what computer technology you will be bringing with you to campus in the fall by logging into your Briton Bound account.

First-Year Students: Transfer Students: Staying Connected Through Engage

An important part of the Albion College experience is attending campus events and joining student organizations. To help facilitate those activities, we will be using a software platform called Engage. Within Engage, you will be able to explore student organizations, find out what’s going on around campus, RSVP to events, and more. Another critical function Engage offers is the ability to check-in to events. By checking into events through Engage, we are able to keep track of who has been at which events and who has potentially come into contact with who. During this time and preparing for the fall, that is a critical piece for us returning to campus.

Engage is a new software program for Albion College to help students connect with student organizations and events happening. Since our Engage site is still being developed, not all functions of the site are ready for you to explore just yet. However, the first step for you to be able to access all of the applications in the future, is to create your Engage profile and access your Event Pass. Your Event Pass is a unique QR code just for you that will remain the same during your entire time at Albion. It is a quick, contactless way to check-in to events happening on campus and make your attendance count!

How to create your Engage Student Profile and access your Event Pass:

  1. Visit your Engage Student Profile and log in with your campus credentials (username and password).
  2. After you have successfully logged in, you will be prompted to answer a couple of questions to create your profile.
  3. When you are finished with those questions, you should see the following screen:
  4. Click on your profile picture in the top right of the screen (it may display your first initial if you do not have a profile picture).
  5. In the drop down menu that appears after you click, there will be an option called “Event Pass.” Once you click on this, it will show you your unique QR identifying code that you will use for entry into events.

Please note, if you are viewing the Event Pass from your mobile browser, you should see the option to add the pass to your Apple Wallet or Android Pay. These options make it easier to access your Event Pass at a later date. You can also choose to take a screenshot of your pass or print it. All of these options will work when checking into an event in the future.

Once you have created your profile and accessed your Event Pass, you are all set for now! More updates and information about Engage will be shared as we continue to develop our Albion College site. Stay tuned, more to come!
