Summer Orientation Program - Class Registration and Housing

The Summer Orientation - Countdown to College blog will be posted weekly on Wednesday afternoons on the Summer Orientation Website. The weekly blog will be sent out to all first-year students, transfer students, and their families. Should information be specific for one target audience (first-year students only, transfer students only or parents/families only), that information will be tagged accordingly. The Summer Orientation Blog will include:

  • Information pertinent to First-Year College Students and Families, as well as Transfer Students and their Families. Transfer students are defined as individuals who have been a full time student at another institution and are transferring their education to Albion College.
  • College updates and happenings, especially those that are related to the start of classes in the fall.
  • Department and Program Information
  • Call to Action Items in the form of a To-Do List
  • Activity Information including date/time for live interactions that will be recorded for future viewing as well

First-Year Students: Registering for Fall Classes

A select group of faculty have been trained to work this summer to develop your fall class schedule. While our faculty advisors are very adept, they do need your input to craft the best schedule of classes for you to begin your college career. Currently in your Briton Bound account, you will find three required Assessments.

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Languages: French, German, or Spanish

Once you have completed your Assessments you are required to complete an Academic Questionnaire. This Questionnaire is also in your Briton Bound account.

  • Academic Questionnaire

These Items should be completed as soon as possible, with the deadline being June 15th. Completing these items will ensure that the faculty advisors will be able to build the best schedule for you. With a large incoming class it will take faculty advisors time to build schedules for everyone. Class schedules will be sent to new students mid summer. Students will have an opportunity to work with faculty advisors if you have a concern about the schedule that was created for you. Information on how to reach faculty advisors will be made available when schedules are released this summer.

Transfer Students: Registering for Fall Classes

Transfer student class schedules will be created by scheduling an individual virtual meeting with the transfer student advisor who works within the Registrar's Office. The transfer student advisor will assist you in evaluating your past coursework and determining what Albion College requirements your past coursework fulfills. Taking into account your major/minor and other College academic requirements, the transfer student advisor will develop with you a course schedule for the fall that is designed to put you on track to achieve your academic goals. A Transfer Registration Appointment will be available in your Briton Bound Account once we have received your Official Final Transcript. If you have not done so already, please request your official final transcript be sent from your previous institution to Albion. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Lloyd McPartlin at .

First-Year Students: Transfer Students: Housing Request Form

Albion College is a residential liberal arts institution, and highly values the experience and learning that occurs when students reside and study together. The richness of the Albion experience is enhanced when students connect and talk and explore topical issues with one another outside the classroom. The Residential Life staff prioritizes their responsibility to make room and roommate assignments for incoming students. In order for the Residential Life staff to best pair students together, please complete the housing request with honest answers for how you expect to live on campus. The Housing Request Form can be found in your Briton Bound account. The Office of Residential Life asks that each student complete the housing request form on their own, not by parents or family members. Please be truthful about your interests, living expectations, and personal habits. Being honest will provide the Residential Life staff with the information they need to make the best roommate matches possible. The Housing Request Form should be completed by June 5.
