Robert has been in the Department of Theatre at Albion College for 18 years. He teaches Acting, Directing, Dramatic Analysis, Voice and Movement, Musical Theatre and Film Noir. His undergradate degree is from Oneonta State (NY) in English and Speech and Theatre. He earned an MFA with a concentration in Acting from Illinois State. Prior to his time at Albion, Robert was a high school English teacher, a Gifted Arts coordinator, a social worker and a professional actor and director. In Michigan, Robert has appeared at the Purple Rose Theatre, The Performance Network, The Attic Theatre, The Jewish Ensemble Theatre, Greenfield Village Theatre Company and Wild Swan Theatre. He has appeared in industrials and commercials for several companies, including Ford, Amway, Art Van, Sam Bernstein, English Gardens and Murray's Auto Parts. He also directed operas for Arbor Opera Theatre for nine years. At Albion, he has directed 28 productions, and he also had roles in three plays. He played King Lear in King Lear, Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof and the King in Tartuffe. He has written several plays, two of which have been performed at Albion.
