Accounting Students Stalk 'Crooks' to Study Tax Fraud, ID Theft
From responding to an Albion Public Safety traffic stop to putting a suspect in handcuffs, accounting students recently got a unique career perspective thanks to Albion alumnus Stephen Moore, '83, an IRS criminal investigation supervisory special agent in the Detroit field office. Assisted by several active IRS colleagues, Moore led the students through simulations of the real-life criminal investigations they pursue on a daily basis.

E&M Class Consults on Community Food Hub Launch
Economics and Management professors Vicki Baker and Joy Nakfoor focused on the soon-to-open Albion community Food Hub as a case study for a consulting class this fall. Students worked on ordinances and zoning, determined healthy food availability in Albion, and gauged local restaurant interest in local ingredients, as well as farmers' interest in a year-round market.

E&M Chair Hooks Co-Authors Paper with Erdman, '14
Professor Jon Hooks, chair of the Albion College Economics and Management Department, and Sarah Erdman, '14, crunched two decades of data in their recently published paper on mutual fund discount prices.
