For Leapheart, '15, Internship in Midland Changes Hometown View

"There is no such thing as a 'typical day' at the Midland Area Chamber of Commerce," writes Jamaris Leapheart, '15, who recently completed a fall-semester internship at the Chamber. "During my internship here, I have done data entry, solicitation for a charity fundraiser, given presentations to schools about community service, made and sent thank-you cards, folded programs, and made name badges and gift bags."

On July 27, 2011, Kevin Riley, an Albion College junior lacrosse player from Trumbull, Conn., was spending a relaxing summer day with one of his best friends, Chris O’Brien. They became friends in sixth grade, eventually spending every summer day together despite the fact that they attended rival high schools. On this particular day, they headed to Block Island, R.I., to savor a day on the beach.
