With what organizations are you involved on campus?

  • Student Senate
  • Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Ford Council
  • Tour Guide for Admissions
  • Political Science Peer Tutor

Why did you choose Ford?

I chose the Ford Institute because it really embodied what I wanted out of a college education, namely a dedication to public policy and a commitment to student success. The Ford Institute opened up opportunities for me that I couldn't have even imagined!

What current issue/topic is important to you?

Urban Revitalization and "green" development.

In what ways have you been involved with this cause at Albion?

Albion offers a substantial amount of coursework, including a week-long trip to Detroit, to talk about finding solutions to the problems facing America's cities. I've learned how to write grants, studied LEED certification, and attended campus talks by the innovators who are pushing the boundaries in this field!

What has been the most influential moment for you thus far at Albion College?

Watching what the City of Albion has done with itself in just the four years I have been here. Whether I'm browsing the farmer's market or watching a movie in the Bohm Theater, Albion proves daily that hope and a little elbow grease can lead to great things.

What do you envision yourself doing after Albion?

I plan on attending law school and becoming an attorney. I'd like to work on development deals in places like Detroit, hopefully incorporating my passion for sustainable buildings and urban revitalization into one career.
