Matriculation is a formal process of becoming a student or enrolling into a college. This event marks the moment when all new students (both first-years and transfers) officially become a part of the Albion College family in the College history.
During this event, our students are formally welcomed to the Albion community of scholars by the College's president, faculty, and upperclass students. On the Friday of Fall Orientation each year, Friday, August 21, 2020 this year, students go through the following traditions to Matriculate into Albion College;
Usually, parents, family members, faculty and staff are invited and encouraged to attend the ceremony, which follows a pre-matriculation reception that offers opportunities to create their own Briton connections. Following COVID-19 gathering restrictions, this year's event was recorded for a virtual ceremony and physically socially distanced for the in person pieces. We hope you will watch and enjoy the video recording(above) of the event this year and feel connected to our Briton community as well.
