Briton House Apartments

The Basics

Briton House Apartments are College-owned apartments for senior-year men and women. It is located at the corner of Erie and Huron streets. Briton holds 24 students in two-bedroom, one-bath apartments. There are a total of six apartments holding four students (gender-specific) per apartment.

Room Furnishings

Per Student:

  • XL twin size bed (80” x 36”)
    • May be bunked or placed as individuals
  • Desk and desk chair
  • Bookcase/shelf
  • Chest of drawers (three-drawer unit)

Per Room:

  • Cable TV hookup
  • Mini blinds
  • Carpet

Building your own loft is prohibited. All college furniture must remain in the room/apartment throughout the entire academic year.

Board Plan

Students in Briton Apartments are not required to be on a College Board Plan. However, students may purchase a College Board Plan if desired. Please see Dining Services for more information.

Apartment Amenities

Per Apartment:

  • Carpeted living room
  • Mini blinds
  • Cable TV hookup
  • Furnished living room
  • 1-2 loveseats, up to 2 lounge chairs, an end table, and coffee table
  • Full kitchen
    • Stove
    • Sink with garbage disposal
    • Dishwasher
    • Refrigerator
  • Dining room table and chairs
  • Each Briton Apartment received new tile in the kitchen and bathroom in December 2016.

Laundry Machines:

  • Each set of two apartments share one washer and one dryer (free of charge).
  • Residents are responsible for the housekeeping of their individual apartments. Students need to bring their own cookware, dishware, and silverware.

Internet Access

Wireless access is only available in the common areas of each apartment. All student rooms have active, wired ports.

Key Access

Briton House Apartments are set up with card system that allows students to use their Albion1Card as a key to their residential building as well as their individual apartment.

Community Living Staff

Area Coordinator (AC)

  • A full time professional staff member hired through the Office of Community Living.
  • Briton House Apartments AC resides on the first floor of Mitchell Towers and oversees Mitchell Towers, Fiske House, Ingham Hall, Dean Hall, Munger, Munger Annex, and Apartments.

Use of Tobacco Products

Briton House Apartments is a smoke-free facility. For more information about our Smoking Policy, please see page 82 in our 2017-2018 Student Handbook.

Briton House Apartments has one emergency telephone that is a direct line to Campus Safety:

Room Sign Up Requirements

Students interested in Briton Apartments must apply in groups of four (same gender) during the Apartment phase of the Room Selection Process.
