    Liner notes from the Orchestra's 1957 album Play for Peanuts: This album gives a cross section of the “big sound” and features arrangements written from 1938 to 1957. Side one presents five dance-tempo arrangements to standards and pops. Vocalist Marv Camber is spotlighted on “Friendly Persuasion.” Side two kicks off with Count Basie’s favorite, “One O’Clock Jump,” followed by Glenn Miller’s immortal “A String of Pearls,” “Bronco Galup,” a swinging number with a solid beat, was written by contemporary composer Richard Bowles. Jim Wyse is the tenor soloist on “Come Back Sorrento,” styled in modern by Pete Rugolo. The final number “Interpretation” is the last movement from My Utopia, a symphony for Progressive Concert Jazz Orchestra. It was composed by the band’s arranger, college student John McCord, who does the narration. This album is dedicated to Lucy, Linus, Schroder, Snoopy and all the gang from good ’ol Charlie Brown — hence the name. We hope you enjoy listening to Charlie Brown play for the “Peanuts.”
