Resources for Faculty
The Learning Support Center staff is available and eager to answer questions from faculty on how best to assist students with disabilities in their classrooms. We are happy to answer questions on best practices for specific disabilities. In addition we can refer faculty to outside sources as well. A sample of some sources is given below.
- AccessCollege: The Faculty Room - Search their Q&A for best practices for working with students with disabilities. (University of Washington)
- Universal Design for Learning - Universal Design allows the student to control the method of accessing information while the teacher monitors the learning process and initiates any beneficial methods. (Ohio State University)
Students on the Spectrum – Ideas for the Classroom is an outline of a presentation given by Pam Schwartz for the Albion College Center for Learning and Teaching in the November 2014.
