Historian Recounts Holocaust Rescue Tale

Ken Waltzer speaks about The Rescue of Children and Youth at Buchenwald, February 7 at Albion College.Internationally renowned historian Ken Waltzer brings details on "The Rescue of Children and Youth at Buchenwald" to an Albion audience Thursday, February 7, at 7 p.m. in Albion College's Bobbitt Auditorium.

One of the largest concentration camps built by the Nazis in World War II, Buchenwald supplied many of the forced laborers in German factories during that time.

Waltzer currently serves as professor of history at director of Jewish studies at James Madison College. In recent years, he has won a State of Michigan Teaching Excellence Award, the Mid-Michigan Alumni Club Quality in Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Outstanding Study Abroad Director Award in Arts and Letters. Waltzer’s interests cover American social and political history and modern Jewish history in Europe, America and Israel. He is recognized internationally for his current research and writing based on survivor testimonies and interviews with Holocaust survivors.
