audit department.

In a nutshell, what do you do?

I will be working for Pricewaterhouse Coopers in their Private Company Services assurance branch in Detroit. I will be working alongside a team of PwC employees on performing audits for various clients. The work I do will contribute to the formation of an opinion of the fairness of our client’s financial statements.

Why do you love what you do?

I love the variety the job offers. I love that I can be in my office one day and then at my client's office the next day. I'm able to work on different parts of each audit, which teaches me a lot about how different companies operate. Public accounting is a challenging job, but I'm constantly learning and adapting, which helps it to never get boring.

What did you like most about Albion?

The people. I have met so many wonderful people on this campus that have helped me grow in numerous ways. Albion is a small, close-knit community which has allowed me to get really close with a lot of people. I also have really enjoyed getting to know the faculty at Albion. At a large school I think I would blend in with the crowd, but here my professors know me and are able to spend time working with me when I need the help.

How did Albion help you get there?

Albion provided me with the flexibility of figuring out what I was interested in. When I got here I had no idea what I wanted, but I was able to take numerous business courses to find the best fit for me. On top of allowing me to have flexibility academically, it also gave me many opportunities. I was able to join different groups that have helped me gain knowledge outside of the classroom, and many networking opportunities to connect with Alumni or other successful individuals.

For me, Albion…

...has become my home. It is a place where I was able to make lifelong friends, explore my interests, learn, and reach my professional goals. It has helped me feel prepared for anything that life may throw at me.
