Communication Studies

What you’ll study.

Communication: It's the process that makes us human. It's how we develop our identities. It's how to speak, write, and build messages, and the study of how our messages change the world. It's a study that's central to the mission of the liberal arts.

What you’ll do.

Investigate (in real-world settings) how humans use signs and symbols to communicate. Research interpersonal, public, organizational, or mass communications contexts. Practice and refine public speaking, professional writing, and relationship building, and while we're at it, spend a semester off campus somewhere in the U.S. or abroad.

Where you’ll go.

The skills we teach are among the most universally valuable and transferable that you can acquire and refine in college. They'll enable you to excel in a variety of careers, and make smooth transitions in a changing world.
