Picking the Winners for Business: Mitchell Jeffery's Off-Campus Internship

Mitchell Jeffery, '14
Despite LinkedIn, Google, and the examples set by television crime shows, Web-based background searches aren't always – or often -- easy. "My boss says our job is a little like a murder mystery – sometimes it's really difficult just to confirm that someone is employed where the system says," said communication studies major Mitchell Jeffery, '14. "Or you might be looking for employment data and find out someone's involved in a lawsuit. There can be a sense of accomplishment just finding out where someone works."

Spencer Krauss, '12

Gerstacker Institute member Spencer Krauss, '12, will graduate in December with a degree in economics and management. Part of his last semester will also involve quarterbacking the Albion football team to what the Britons hope is a second straight MIAA championship.

The Tipton, Mich., native was recruited by a number of NCAA Division I schools, including Stanford, where he threw passes alongside top NFL Draft pick Andrew Luck during his visit. A serious knee injury changed Krauss' plans, but the last several years have proven mutually beneficial for him and Albion. Krauss talks about his experience in an Aug. 29 Detroit News feature.
