There are thousands of agencies that make a difference in a variety of areas. Why not intern for one? From non-governmental organizations (NGO) to groups that have some government ties, Ford students have the opportunity to work for a group for which they share similar passions. Raise awareness; work with clientele that need your help; be an agent of change.
During the summer of 2013, Caitlyn interned for the South Lansing Community Development Association. She was responsible for the organization's social media and was shortly promoted to writing their weekly newsletter. She also operated the children's tent at weekly farmers markets. In her free time, Caitlyn would help grow vegetables in the group's hoop house. This experience inspired Caitlyn to continue a career of service with Americorps.
