With my interest in politics and helping other people, I was thrilled to find an institute like Ford at Albion College. I hope, someday, to go into the human rights realm, and a knowledge about public policy and service will be more than applicable for what I want to do.
I am very interested in LGBTQ+ rights and non-discrimination policy. It is something that I am very passionate about, and I hope to dedicate a lot of my energy to the cause and making the country and the world a safer, healthier place for everyone.
I have been working with LGBriTs throughout our Coming Out Week Events, and will be working with the organization with all the energy and passion I can bring.
My most influential moment at Albion was my participation in the Inside Out program through Men and Masculinities (Sociology class) at Cotton Correctional Facility in Jackson, Michigan. It was truly the most amazing experience of my life, giving me the unique opportunity to interact with and get to know some of the individuals living at the facility.
I hope to join the Peace Corps after college, although in what capacity I am not sure. I, then, want to pursue a masters degree in social services, and hope to dedicate my life to helping other people.
