Ervin and Fore Lead Dressage at Findlay (November 5, 2016)

The University of Findlay (OH) hosted dressage teams from the region on Saturday, November 5 in a competition that saw the Britons finish fourth, their score boosted by the performances of sophomore team captain Jessi Fore (Wenatchee, WA/Wenatchee) and her classmate Shannon Ervin (Ortonville/Brandon).

Fore led off for the Britons at First Level and came away with a third place finish; Ervin then followed suit and finished third at Lower Training Level. First-year rider Madelin Darby (Alto/Caledonia) finished fifth in her First Level ride and sophomore McKenzie Bush (St. Clair/Marysville) was allowed a wild card spot to compete as an individual during the meet at Upper Training level.

“We were all assigned to very different horses and it was both fun and educational to watch each rider solve a different type of problem,” team captain Fore commented at the end of the weekend.

Briton dressage has a respite from competition until second semester when they’ll head to a double-header hosted by Lake Erie College (OH) February 18 and 19.
